This is a traditional Yakama Tribe tipi that was painted for the year of 1880 crica area in Yakama county Washington. Thes tipis were made of of dear and elk hide to keep it well insulated inside, it was held up inside by wooden poles. It was made into a three demesional A frame to give a lot of room for storage and cooking. This tipi shows you an idea of what they lived in and how they used them.
"V-Shape Harvest Basket". This is a smaller version of an open weave basket used for harvesting plants or bulbs, and carrying dried salmon. The V-shape gives the basket the ability to carry heavy items in large amounts. The V shapes forms to your back or shoulder for easier carrying of items. This was thought to be made in the 1880 circa area in Yakama county Washington. This shows us how they transported and carried food and also what they carried in it.
