End of School: "Get The Bag" by A$AP Mob is THE song for me even though it was dropped last summer I still want to be put down in my coffin to this song, The song makes me so ecstatic for the summer time. The song is just a masterpiece to me. one of the highlights of this song is "smooky Margielaa" verse which talks about getting rich the haters and woes that come with the money, the reason for his high aprisol is because he is a 15 year old and he raps his own style, it makes me think wow a 15 year old can rap like this maybe I can
This album means a tremendous amount to me whenever im doing homework "DAMN." is in my ears when I listen to Kendrick Lamar I fall in love with his music all over again every time one of his songs play, His art that he makes destresses me from school If Im doing Work Kendrick is in my ear matter of fact while Im working on This Im listening to "Duckworth" by Kendrick Lamar which is on his new album. When I glisten to KDOT its like its an excellently written poem but thats every piece of music he writes and you have got to respect him for that, Hes a lyrical genius who writes stories and makes them come to life. Just writing about this paragraph made me forget it had to do with school Kendrick Lamar distracts me and makes me happy
Odd Future - "Oldie" is a great group collaboration by the group Odd Future. I dont usually enjoy long songs especially 10 minute long songs but this song is an exception the way all the different artists build off of eachother about having squad goals and just doing "goon" things. But the jewl of this entire song is Earl Sweatshirts verse with lines like "Supernova, I'm rollin' over the novices I'm roamin' through the forest and spittin' cold as the porridge is Stay gold 'til the case closed and the story end Post mortem porkin' this rap shit and record it To escort it to the morgue again, lord of lips Bored of this, forklift the tippy top, best under 40 list Stormin' the gate, ensurin' the bass, scorchin' ladies" and countless other one linerz that contain double entendres and clever word plays you cant listen to this song once. You have to listen to it atleast 5 times before you appreciate the full of the verse and the whole song. The way this song makes me feel is overwhelmingly happy pure happiness this song brings me to the entire Lacrosse season. Words can not describe the way I feel when Earls verse plays it is so complex and fluent its insane how someone could come up with that good of a verse.
"FML" By Kanye West brings us to the end of the winter when that first sprout of flowers appears this song has a great verse by Kanye "Remember that last time in Mexico Remember that last time, the episode Asking me why the hell I text in code Four times that you say don't text me hoe Told you four times, don't test me, hoe Now we finna lose all self-control But you ain't finna be raising your voice at me" I dont know why this verse speaks to me but its hard verse inside of a mellow verse makes me feel like "yea you aint shit", during this time I was starting to try a little harder in school so i felt empowered This song is just lowkey hype the beats the way its organized this song is a great Little get me through kind of song
"Super Rich Kids" by Frank Ocean feat Earl Sweatshirt. starts off the long winter this song is an elegant song about privilege. The reason this song is on the list is because its depressing tone, juxtaposes with the lyrics of a story about Privileged and having maids instead of parents and doing drugs because of the lack of parental guidance, that with great money comes great Responsibility and money sometimes causes more problems then it fixes. I Do not feel relatable to this but the way Earl Sweatshirt rhyme scheme presents itself. this Beautiful Frank ocean with nice lyrics and soothing melody makes me have a naustolgic feeling I never thought I needed
"R.I.C.O." Feat. Drake By Meek Mill is another Song that got me through this year this song brings me to the last 3 weeks of the football season the grind the hard work the consistency of the reps in this song specifically there is one line "For my teachers that said I wouldn't make it here I spend a day what you make a year" This line is very impactful to me I use this line as not "screw my teachers" but as a screw the haters whenver I hear that line no matter where I am even at a Funeral gets me ready to go on the football field this song along with "Dreams&Nightmares" got me through the first 3 months of school.
When I hear the opening Note of "Dreams&Nightmares" It brings me back to week 1 of Football, being a sophomore on varsity playing against grown men having my fellow seniors and juniors believing in me. believing that a sophomore can compete with older kids. This song brings me that same hellueva good feeling before all 8 games This song gets me ready to run through a brick wall no hesitation
