Overall retail sales expanded a solid 1.5 per cent in October, the latest report shows.
October’s strong sales growth was what retailers were hoping for as they navigated the time between Back to School and the Holiday Season. All Stores sales for the month of October increased by 7.3% over October 2016 and All Stores Less Automotive, Food, and Pharmacies was up 6.3%. Consumer confidence has also increased 4.2 points over September’s level. This October, consumers were not just heading towards the holiday season, it seems as though they were running!
