Hey

How's it going?  Cold?  As I write this intro, I'm looking out on a field covered in snow.  The Winter Olympics may have finished but we're still living the experience here in the UK.  It's cold.  I hope you like the Olympic themed image leading this months Chatter.   I've also linked to a  useful article about Olympic lessons learned relating to social media.

So, what's new?

Well, most of the major social media players have launched their 2018 reports including Buffer, Kissmetrics and Hootsuite.  There are common themes across them all.

  • Facebook is still the main social player
  • Live video is underutilised by brands - no time or budget
  • Paid ads in isolation don't work as well as when integrated with campaigns
  • Brands frustrated by organic reach decline
  • Trust declines as peer influence is on the rise  (hint:  Employee Advocacy)

We've launched our first eBook around activating employees as influencers whilst mitigating the risk that naturally come with it.

I wish you a great weekend ahead.  I'm off to grab the sledge out of the garage which hasn't been used since we moved back from Norway.  Not often we get snow here!
