The novel that I choose was The forever war written by Joe Haldeman. This novel is a classic fiction story of a man named William Mandella who happens to be the top in his class for intelligence, education and physical attributes. Mandella is put in charge of some troops and are heading to an uncharted planet for there's a war in sight. There are dangers that lurk ahead and they will do everything in their power to win the battle. He leads his strike force to a cold chilling planet where war is seen as neverending. I found this novel to be quite understanding and reasonable for the presentable topic. I personally haven't read this book yet, but I’m committed to read this novel in the near future. This novel covers the ideas of a forever war going on in our universe. I choose this novel because it seems like war has also been forever and will never come to an end or a halt, much like the war going on in Iraq currently.
Tehran’s growing influence in the post-Islamic State Middle East rises up tensions between the distribution of more money weapons and advisers to the Shia militia. Through the raise of the Shia militia and the Tehran's ups the anties for more suspicion and concern in the middle east. This forces are highly dangerous and are seen as life threatening. Iran has put in new strategies and techniques for their military strategy. I found this article to be very informing. This article better presents the dangers that are associated with the raise of the Shia militia and Tehran's influence. U.S. needs to get involved with these actions that are sooner or later going to stir up controversy. My feelings are a little scared to be seeing more islamic groups being formed and nothing is being done towards it. Islamic radical groups need to be stopped and held by U.S. military to better ensure the protection of human society.
The opinion article source that I choose was article written by the New York Times. This opinion article better summarizes the positives to the contribution of the American military stationed in Iraq. The military is essential to national security, but it is not the only thing keeping America safe. It’s a better aset for national security and helps provide manys to feel safe. Additionally, the rise of terrorism is a concern after the 9/11 incident that had further given us the reason to be stationed in Iraq. I found this article to be very pleasing because it states the pros of the U.S. military. I fully agree and love the idea of having the U.S. being stationed all around the world especially islamic states like Iraq. After the 9/11 tragedy that happened, I better agree that military around the globe helps provide national security.
The photojournalism source that I chose was several photos posted by photojournalists published by slate. The photographs include images of American soldiers, islamic infants and battle scenes of islamic terrorists. All these photos show the brutal conditions and the pain of these people. Everyone is affected through the consequences of both the terrorist and american side. Additionally, these images are better shown to the public to show the aspect of harmful life in the middle east. I found these images to be quite disturbing and gory. The images of the islamic infants covered in blood are miserable and horrific. These pictures are better shown to help provide a sense of relation through the people of today. The struggles for both sides condemn a war like decision. These images should be shown to the whole world and everyone should know what is going on in the middle east.
The documentary source I choose was a video following the dangers along with the Iraq war. It goes over on how the conflict began in 2003 with an invasion by U.S. that overthrew the government of Saddam Hussein. The Iraq war has been the fifth longest U.S. combat force following participation. This war has costed millions of lives and billions of dollars. The use of chemical weapons were used for torturing iran civilians and created the iran- Iraq war. The U.S fought along the iranians for better shutting down the Islamic Iraq. I found this documentary very interesting. I choose to research the Iraq war because I know a couple guys who were involved. I know these brave men through my dad and I was given the opportunity to listen to their stories associated with the Iraq war. They went on seven tours to Iraq that I found very intriguing. The war of Iraq has stirred up the deaths of millions of lives both guilty and innocent. The war needs to be more careful for not involving the lives of innocents. War is seem as a problem solver and that mixes up controverse.
The film source I choose was a movie called American Sniper. This movie is about a Navy seal whos a talented sniper in the field. The sniper known as Chris Kyle countless saves lives on and off the battlefield in Iraq. This is a true story and is very touching to those who have active duty military in their families today. This story turns him into a legend after serving four tours in the middle east and faithfully saying it's the hardest to leave war behind more than anything. War scars you in a different way. I found this film to be very intriguing. This movie is placed in the top 10 of all the movies I have watched. I enjoy this film very much because it illustrates the lives affected by the war in Iraq. How families are affected back home and the losing of lives of friends and brothers in combat. This movie teaches the cruel acts and habits the islams do to civilians.
