A video looking at how the Nazis reduced unemployment between the years 1933-1939.Germany's economy was in a mess in year 1933. Unemployment stood at 6 million but after Hilter was elected chancellor, it had fallen to less than half a million six years later. Germany's economic success was a result of several policies introduces during Nazi rule. I chose this video as it clearly showed how Nazi rule helped improve the problems Germany was facing at that point of time and the effectiveness of the policies that were implemented. From the video, it showed how the policies helped improved Germany's economy and thus i believe Nazi rule is beneficial.
This cartoon depict hilter is striking an aggressive pose showing that he is trying to take over more power and he has the idea of ruling all Germans. Behind him there is a lot of ghostly figure each holding up a sign shows that there will be further crisis as hilter will try to take over other Germans in other nations and will eventually use is as an exuse to attack Britian. I chose this cartoon as it show how Nazi rule instill fear in others by having thoughts on attacking countries. His ambition will not only affect people in Germany but also risk the lives of people living in other countries. Thus, it show that Nazi rule is not beneficial for Germany as hilter is too greedy and this might negatively impact the lives of the people.
This video show that after Hilter began to rearm Germany,an armaments industry grew to make weapons and equipment needed. Conscription was then introduced which benefited the Germans greatly as it forced them to go and join the army. These employed thousands of men as well as making the Germans feel great again. Germany was able to protect themselves from other powers and restored Germany's honour and National Pride and regained their optimism and self-confidence. I chose this video as it showed how rearmament of Germany benefited Germany both in the economic and social area. Thus, I conclude that Nazi rule is beneficial.
This picture showed a number of children aged 13-18 who looked very scrawny and unhealthy. They might be suffering from malnutrition as they are skinny to the extent that their bones could be seen. This picture of the children in concentration camps showed how bad the treatment was in the camp and how much they actually suffered. This also showed how Nazi rule treated them in this way is inhumane and using young children in medical experiments is totally unacceptable. I chose this source as it described perfectly how some people in the country was mistreated by the Nazi government. The loss of freedom and being treated thus unfairly show that Nazi rule was not beneficial for Germany.
This picture show Hilter turning over the first shovel at the construction of an autobahn as part of the Nazi road building scheme. The government began to build motorways, schools and hospitals. This helped in giving people more job opportunities and people are able to gain better access around the country with also a better standard of living. I chose this source as it showed that Hiler's road building scheme benefitted the people and he even contributed in it. Thus, it is beneficial to Germany.
This article showed that women in Nazi Germany were to have a very specific role. Hitler was very clear about this. This role was that they should be good mothers bringing up children at home while their husbands worked. Women were not supposed to be employed and they are only to be mothers, staying at home. As housewives and mothers, their lives were controlled. In Nazi Germany it was not considered a social problem if an unmarried woman had a child. In fact it was encouraged. This showed that women were not respected and considered of a lower level than guys. i chose this article as it showed how severe sexism was during Nazi rule. Thus, i believe that Nazi rule is not beneficial for Germany.
Strength Through Joy (Kraft durch Freude) was set up in Nazi Germany so that all aspects of a worker’s non-working time were looked after. It arranged theatre trips, summer holidays, skiing holidays, summer and winter hikes, cruises and outdoors activities. People living in the countryside had trains made available for them to get into a city to watch theatre performances. The state provided about as much as could be needed to take up anyone’s slack free time. This showed that the workers got to enjoy some privileges during their free time as they got to enjoy holidays and activities they will never be able to afford to do. I chose this source as it showed Hilter's care for the people in the country and the benefits of strength of joy. Thus, people get to enjoy something they never experienced before and thus it is beneficial.
This article show how Antisemitism and the persecution of Jews were central tenets of Nazi ideology. In their 25-point party program published in 1920, Nazi party members publicly declared their intention to segregate Jews from “Aryan” society and to abrogate their political, legal, and civil rights. The government required Jews to identify themselves in ways that would permanently separate them from the rest of the population. I chose this source as it showed how the jews were mistreated by Hilter just because they are jews and portrayed as lowly human beings. With the idea of racism, Nazi rule was not beneficial.
