This source shows that the women under Nazi rule were confined to roles of mother and spouse. I chose this source as it shows how different the men and women roles are, the woman in this source is carrying a baby while the men are doing labour work and carrying weapons. Women were excluded from politics and academics, they were also discouraged from pursing university studies, and all women's associations were banned. This did not benefit Germany as talents might not be discovered from women and this may also cause Germany in the future to be short of manpower.
This video source shows that the Nazis worked hard to revive Germany's economy and solve it's unemployment problems. I chose this source as it compare the percentage of unemployment before Hitler came in and after Hitler help with the economics. Hitler set the target of reviving Germany and giving every German worker a job. The building of roads, motorways and public buildings helped to reduce unemployment while at the same time providing infrastructure and facilities for the public. The Nazis also introduced conscription for the army, this created many jobs as men needed to make war materials, such as weapons, equipment and uniforms. Hitler also decided that Germany needed a modern air force which helped boost the economy and also provided employment. This shows that Nazi rule was beneficial for Germany as it reduces unemployment and increases the number of infrastructure and facilities for the public.
This picture shows that the workers were doing hard labour and they were all working under bad conditions. I chose this source as it shows how the workers were mistreated and working under harsh conditions. Although Hitler secured jobs for German people, but the workers were forced to join DAF(Deutsche Arbeitsfront) or German Work Front, they were strictly controlled by the DAF and were no longer allowed to strike or bargain for pay raises or better conditions. In some industries, they were not allowed to change jobs at all. In year 1935, Nazis imposed a wage freeze on all workers and wages were kept low and prices were controlled. In year 1939, workers worked up to 72 hours a week and wages were restricted.
This cartoon shows that the German people where restricted and have no freedom given. This clearly shows that Hitler is trying to control the German people. I chose this source as it clearly shows that the Nazis were above the Germans and the Germans were tied up showing that they lost their freedom. The Nazis controlled all the radio stations, so that the only opinions heard on air were theirs. Broadcasts of Hitler's speeches were repeated. Listening to any foreign station such as Britain's BBC or even the Radio Beromuenster from Switzerland was punishable by death. As a result, there was a lack of freedom of expression and ideas among the Germans. This shows that Hitler did not want any negative speeches about him that will influence the Germans causing him to restrict what the Germans can listen to, which is not beneficial to the Germans as they lost their freedom of speech and freedom to listen to what they want to listen to.
