This video provides an overview of an old wife talking about how her husband got executed in the show trials and also a old man talking about what he heard as a witness in the show trial . The video also show an example of how the show trial is like and innocent people agreeing to the accused just to protect their family members . i chose this video because it shows how the family members felt about their close ones getting executed innocently , and also how 'dirty' or bad Stalin's policy was , as it made alot of people suffer . This video shows that Stalin's rule was not beneficial for USSR as many innocent lives were executed and many suffered.
political and economic impact . This shows that Stalin's rule was not beneficial for USSR .
This picture shows many people sitting in a court room waiting for their turn to be called or they are probably witnessing the trial . And a guy standing in front looks like he is getting inspect or judge by a judge who is probably Stalin . That guy would probably get executed as many were executed after the show trials , that guy is maybe innocent as many were accused of crime that they did not commit . I chose this picture because it shows how the show trials look like and how people were being judged before being executed . From this picture , i believe that this rule of Stalin's was not beneficial for USSR as many innocent lives were gone because of this .
This 8 min video provides an overview of how people , mostly peasants feel about the collectivisation . This video also show what people do and the hardship they went through . It has an interview that they ask an old lady that went through the collectivisation , how it was like having to work as a child helping her mother . Other than collectivisation , this video also talks about how bad the peasants were suffering , like they died because of diseases and starvation . I chose this video because it shows alot about the collectivisation and how bad it was for the people . This shows that Stalin's rule was not beneficial for USSR as the peasants suffered alot and they were forced to work for Stalin , and also no matter how hard they tried to resist this policy , Stalin would still use harsh ways to make them work .
This picture shows children working very hard , digging for potatoes . These children were probably forced to do agriculture , as in the picture there are soldiers standing behind them , i believe those are the red guards . These pitiful children were probably worried of getting beaten or killed , so they just obeyed whatever the red guards said . And they were also worried that if they resisted this policy of Stalin's , the Red guards will come to seize their grains and sent them to labour camps ,and many red guards burned their crops and killed their animals. i chose this picture because from this we can tell that these peasants were left with no choice and they were forced to agree with Stalin's policy and had to obey whatever Stalin wants , if not they will suffer alot later on . Stalin's rule was not beneficial for USSR , as many people suffered and died of starvation because of this . There was also alot of chaos in the countryside because of this. Afterall , collectivisation was not really effective for the economic .
This cartoon illustrates farmers working very hard on agriculture , there are also children at that area too . Those farmers are probably peasants as they are still using horse drawn ploughs to do their farming , as they do not have much resources . They are probably forced to work , from the cartoon they had to bring their children along to do such farming , which is unnecessary , when they can just stay at home to take care of them . I chose this cartoon because it shows the tough life of the people that were forced to work and it also shows the trouble they have to go through , which is to take care of their children as well as farming . This was not beneficial for USSR as many people suffered and they had alot of trouble going through this .
This picture shows a bunch of children looking very happy to see Stalin and the caption was "Thank you , dear Stalin , for our happy childhood " . This was a propaganda to influence the youths to believe in Stalin's policy . Stalin made use of this to get youths attention . I chose this picture because this shows how Stalin use to make youths believed him and how he made use of propaganda to make him look great in front of the youths . This would benefit the USSR if only he did what he said in the propaganda which is to give the youths or children a good childhood.
This cartoon clearly shows that these people are part of the show trials , and the person sitting in the front is definitely Stalin while the rest are probably public civilians ,scientist ,doctors or other educated people . This cartoon shows that these people were confessing to Stalin , as if they made a mistake and they had to be executed . I chose this cartoon because this shows that many people were often confessing their crime they did not commit , after being tortured or having their families threatened . Normally no one would confess their mistake or crime immediately and they probably would not feel happy confessing them , not like those in the picture . Many educated and knowledgable people , workers were executed and without all these people , the industries would suffered alot . And this shows that this rule of Stalin's was not beneficial for USSR .
