This picture shows a group of teenagers that are hanging up a framed picture of Stalin. They look like their students as they are all wearing a uniform. This is to promote and indoctrinate the students about Stalin as a leader. It also so that they can appreciate Stalin more. I chose this source because it shows that Stalin also uses young people to his advantage as young people tend to have gullible minds and believe him as a great leader.
This photo shows the building of Stalingrad Tractor Factory. Stalin had a five-year plan to better the economy of USSR. This includes rapid industrialisation. Stalin wanted to get rid of farming, thus he wanted factories to lessen the need for people to farm. I chose this source as it shows one of the positive impact Stalin has on USSR. This source shows that rapid industrialisation is beneficial as it provides more people with jobs.
This political cartoon shows a few piles of skulls that resemble pyramids. This is the result of The Great Terror when Stalin wanted to remove all his enemies such as people who disagreed with him or disrespected him as a leader. I chose this source because it emphasises the ridicule amount of people who were killed by Stalin just for not having the same opinion as Stalin. This source shows that Stalin's rule was not beneficial for USSR as it shows that he is not trustable as he is killing some innocent people who do not agree with him.
This 4 minute video briefly shows the political and economic impact of Stalin's rule. The video mentions the purges that happened under Stalin's rule and how he would kill anyone who went against him. I chose this source because it is a simplified version of the impact of Stalin. This source shows that the Stalin rule was not beneficial as many loved ones of people in USSR were killed for just having an opinion that is against Stalin.
Overall, Stalin was a saviour of the USSR despite all the killings he did. His economic developments had more pros than the political development of the Soviet Union. Many people were able to benefit from the economic developments such as employment and facilities. He helped regain the Soviet Union economy which will in return help with lives of the families of Soviet Union. Therefore, Stalin is a saviour of the USSR.
