Was Stalin a saviour of the USSR?

Collectivisation

Collectivisation

The carton was a propaganda to call out to the farmers on merging the small individual farms together into a larger collective farms in order to farm more efficiently through the usage of mechanisation and this brought to the rise of rapid industrialisation where it will supply equipments for farming as the country face a serious shortage of food thus collective farms are necessary. Collective farms was not enforced on the peasants but it was started from a propaganda but yet many peasants diliked the idea and this caused chaos to happen. This source was chosen to show how the idea of collectivisation was started at fist which was through propaganda to the peasants . This shows that the Stain's rule was beneficial as Stalin did not start the idea of having collective farms by forcing the peasants but Stalin started the idea though propaganda to help USSR to solve the shortage of grains.

Industrialsation

Industrialsation

This picture shows the usage of propaganda for rapid industrialisation, rapid industrialisation was introduced to urge workers to complete the targets set to be achieve by 5 years, however the plan was scheduled to 5 years. The rapid industrialisation allows the workers to produce equipments for farming to produce more food and developments of heavy industries and this leads to an enormous increase in production of resources with workers being easily regulated to ensure that they achieve their targets. I chose this image as it shows the extraordinary targets that need to be achieved and the reach out to the crowd on achieving modernisation for USSR through rapid industrialisation. This source shows how beneficial rapid industrialisation is in bringing USSR to modernisation to catch up with the advancement of other countries by starting with gathering resources to build equipments.

Life under Stalin's Rule

Life under Stalin's Rule

The video shows the life of the peasants under Stalin's rule and the impact of it. Although the peasants di not like the idea of having collective farms, Stalin decided to force it upon the farmers as it is important for him to solve the shortage of grains in the country and to have a more effective and productive farms in theirs country to export crops to other countries in order to raise funds for industrialisation which is what Stalin wanted to replace the farmers and to have them be factory workers which will then help Stalin in achieving modernisation in USSR. I chose this video as it shows the life of the peasants which is quite tiring for them and the economy impact of Stalin under his rule. This shows the beneficial part of Stalin ruling USSR in bringing a powerful arms industry to defend the country in the future even without meeting most of the targets especially after the second or third plan but it improved the economy of USSR over the years

Propaganda

Propaganda

This image is trying to show that Stalin is nice and likes children, this is a propaganda to show how Stalin will bring great improvement to the lives of children in the USSR and how much Stalin will care for the nation, this propaganda will then allow the children to be grateful to Stalin and should respect him as he is someone who is good and friendly with children showing affection for him. I chose this image as it shows the propaganda of Stalin wanted to impose onto the children about him when he is ruling USSR. This is beneficial for USSR ass they will gain support from the children when they are still young and have supporters in the future.

The Great Terror

The Great Terror

I chose this cartoon as it illustrate how Stalin tried to get rid of his enemies through trials, arrests and interrogation and what caused the great terror to start was due to Kirov's affair which provided a turning point to great terror. Thousands were identified and accused as Trostky's supporter in murdering Kirov and many confessed to crime that they did not commit due to the being tortured and having their family threatened. I chose this cartoon as it shows people confessing to crime during trials and they seems to be happy while confessing their crime, this shows how they were forced to commit their crimes after being tortured of threatened. This however was not beneficial for USSR as Stalin executed many political leaders to gain power and many innocents and this was for his power only and yet killing innocent people in USSR.

Political Impact of Stalin's rule

Political Impact of Stalin's rule

This video described how under the Stalin's rule he had caught many commanders and officers, administrators that to interrogate and to send them for trials. This shows that the political was badly impacted as Stalin removed many leaders and brought power to himself and having him the only person to rule USSR, I chose this video as it was explained clearly on the impact when Stalin ruled Ussr and it shows how it benefited USSR. This source shows that it had benefited USSR through the weighing of the advantages and disadvantages in the video.
