This source shows all that the major leaders of the Soviet Union were killed except for Lenin, who died naturally and Stalin. who survived. I can infer that Stalin directly or indirectly caused their deaths as they were a threat to Stalin's dictatorship and Stalin felt that they needed to be eliminated. I chose this source as it shows that Stalin killed everyone who opposed him or might replace him. This is bad for Soviet Union as many of the intellectual leaders were killed.
This source shows the killing of many people. I can infer that the killings are due to them being suspected as opposition to Stalin. I chose this source as it represents the killing of many people as people were shown to be lining up to be hanged on a noose. This source also shows that Stalin's rule was not beneficial as it caused fear in people.
This video shows that some people did not like Stalin's rule and wanted Sergei Kirov, a senior communist party leader, which is loyal to Stalin, to replace him. However, Sergei Kirov was 'mysteriously' assassinated and Stalin used this as an opportunity to eliminate his political rivals and those who did not support his policies. Stalin also forced people to inform against their friends and family members who voiced opposition to Stalin, with those suspected to oppose Stalin to be arrested and killed or forced into labor camps. This led to fear amongst people as they did not know who to trust. Industrialization also led to the lack of engineers and scientists, administrators and teachers, Red Army officers and soldiers. He also removed his opposition from his pictures. I chose this video as it is very comprehensive and shows a lot about Stalin's political impact. This source shows that Stalin's rule was not beneficial for the Soviet Union as it led to fear in people.
This source shows 3 workers wielding hammers and working hard in factories to help in the rapid industrialization aim of Stalin. I chose this source to represent industrialization as it shows that the policy is working, and there is an increase in production of goods as the workers are shown working very hard. This source shows that Stalin's policy has worked and there is more production of goods from factories.
This source is a political cartoon about the economic policy of Stalin, "collectivisation". The picture show Stalin, showing the workers what will happen to those who do not follow the policy, which is being punished, and those who follow the policy and drive the tractor happily to farm. I chose this source as it is an interesting cartoon that showed the consequences of not following Stalin's policy. This source shows that Stalin could get people together to follow his policy and therefore, increase the efficiency of the production of food.
This source shows many workers working in a big field by the policy of 'collectivisation'. This policy is implemented to increase the efficiency of farmers so that lesser farmers would be needed to farm and free up more people to work in the factories to industrialize the USSR I chose this source as it represents Stalin's 'collectivisation' policy. as the workers are forced to work in a large field with farming materials from the state being provided to them. This source suggests that the policy is working as many farmers are coming together to work in KolKhoz to make farming more efficient.
