Was Stalin a saviour of USSR?

USSR Industrialisation and the Five Year Plans under Stalin

USSR Industrialisation and the Five Year Plans under Stalin

This video shows in great detail that the Five Year Plan was a sucess for the economy and for the war in 1930s,however the workers had no food as all the food was exported out so that USSR will earn money through there, causing many people to be hungry .Workers thought that one day their hard labour would be paid off but it never did. I chose this source as it clearly illustrates that with the five year plan USSR was able to produce many resources with the factories as well and earn more money which helped to boost the soviet economy . Since there is an increase in the number of factories which also caused the increase in the resources produced ,exporting out more resources to boost economy .This shows that Stalin's rule was beneficial to USSR

It's the same thing without mechanical problems

It's the same thing without mechanical problems

This political cartoon shows in great detail that having the machines to do the farming does not make any differences compared to hard labour and does not help the econmic situation. I chose this source as it clearly illustrates industrialisation did not help to boost the economy ,in fact there was no improvement in terms of the economy ,rather it is the same with people and machines .Since having machines is the same as having man labour doing all the work ,this did not boost the economy of USSR and hence Stalin's rule was not beneficial to USSR.

Letter on conditions of collective farms

Letter on conditions of collective farms

This letter shows in great detail the devastation effect of the collective farms as collective farms did worst compared to when there were smaller industrial farms , causing the economy of the country to drop.I chose this source as it clearly illustrates that how much less did the farms earn after combining causing the people to have less food and money. The drop of resources for the country, meaning less resources for the people and people having to live in poorer conditions shows that Stalin's rule was not beneficial to USSR

Womens carrying guns

Womens carrying guns

This picture show the soviet womens are carrying guns and fighting for USSR. They seem to be determined to fight for their own country which is what the man normally do instead. I chose this source as this source shows that during Stalin's rule the women had to join the workforce and even fulfil their duties as a woman. The women have a hard time doing their part as a woman and as a worker which make them tired and exhausted. The women had to join the workforce which make them have more duties ,making them exhausted and doing more work.Hence Stalin's rule did not benefit the people.

Memorandum on Grain Problem

Memorandum on Grain Problem

The letter shows in great detail that there were villages which did not want to supply the grains to the communist party for them to be exported out hence they are on the blacklist and were not able to receive things from the communist party. I chose this source as it clearly illustrates that the communist party was very strict about the grain collection as they wanted to export it ,however the people had no food hence they are not supply the grains .The communist party however wanted to punish them and the letter shows the punishment established. The communist party only wanted to boost the economy and did not care about the people conditions. The communist party only concern with exporting the grains for economy and did not care about whether people were starving ,if the people go against the communist party ,they take immediate action to sabotage them hence Stalin's rule was not beneficial to USSR

Millions of Ukrainian peasants starved to death

This image shows in great detail that many of the peasants leaving in USSR had no food and starved to death.People also do not have enough food to give to the horses which lead to the horses collapsing.I chose this source as it illustrates clearly that under Stalin's rule many people will forced to starve due to the extreme shortage of food and hence leading to 6 million people dying. The extreme shortage of food which lead 6 million people death have shown the Stalin's rule was not beneficial to USSR
