When we were reading the Letter from Birmingham Jail, Martin Luther about how he was protesting, however, did no physical harm. He was working on ending segregation and racism that was going around. While, he was in jail, kept on working hard and writing letters from the Birmingham jail. He never gave up and had stayed committed to something that was a difficult task to achieve.
Jackie Robinson was the first African American to play in the Major League Baseball. He was inspired by his older brother, Mathew Robinson, because he had won a silver medal in the 200-meter dash. However, Robinson had faced some rough criticism from fans, players from different teams, and even his own teammates throughout his baseball life. Just because he wasn't the same color as everyone else, they assumed he wouldn't be able to make it into playing baseball. He mange to ignore everyone criticism and work hard on something he loves, and look where it brought him! He is the first African American player who didn't stop playing baseball when he had been harshly criticized by everyone.
As we read in "The Circle" Mae had been working in a powerful internet company. During a meeting, Bailey had assign everyone to make a circle account for themselves so they could all be able to vote on the same server. However, Mae decides to get every citizen to vote with the circle servers. So, she proves her point into making all the citizens vote with the circle and manages to get citizens vote with them.
As we know, Walt Disney had been fired from the Missouri newspaper because he was not creative enough. Later on, he also experienced a bankrupt when he had fail his cartoon series in Kansas. Even though, he was fired and failed with cartoon he learned that he could do better for himself and have ownership, where he was committed to keep on working with his cartoons. Now the creator of Mickey Mouse he has been nominated for at least 59 Academy awards and had won 32. He never stopped making his cartoons and knew he had passion to keep on doing something entertaining for kids.
When Emily was younger she couldn't really speak up on things she wanted to say. It was like whenever she talked to someone or was on stage, she would be frighten. However, one day one her junior high school teacher had motivate her to try out for one of the school plays. Her teacher motivate her to slowly communicate and talk accents and change voices to be able to talk and it had worked for her. After she had her teacher encourage her and achieved her fear of being able to talk, Emily has now succeed as a British actress.
Tyler Perry had a pretty hard childhood for himself. As he was growing up he was physically and sexually abused, had been kicked out of high school, and also tried to commit suicide twice. He had placed all his savings into a theater production he had wrote, produced, and starred in 1992. However, he did not have a huge success and had failed where he only had 30 people come watch it. On the other hand, he kept on producing and had slowly start to build up as a progress. Now after all those years of putting his energy and encouragement, he now has a big career as a director, writer, and actor for doing something he had so much pride in.
Rosa Parks was the one who began the Civil Rights Movement. She had refused to give up her seat to a white man on the bus. When she had decline to give the seat up, she was arrested. Later on, Parks had stood up in her own beliefs and did was right. She had been symbolized as a strong and committed women to end the racial segregation.
Stephen had a difficult time to get his first book "Carrie" to get published. It had gained about 30 rejections, when he finally had given up and threw it in the trash. Eventually, his wife had gave him encouragement for him to get it back from the trash and give it another try. After a few years, he finally got it published and now has hundreds of book he has published. If it wasn't for his wife giving him faith and pushing himself , he wouldn't been known as one of the best-selling authors and have hundreds of books released.
As we all know when Michael tried out for basketball during his sophomore year he didn't make it, but he was shocked because he knew he was good player. After his rejection of not making it into the basketball team, he did have second thoughts about quitting basketball. However, this only made him work hard and become a better player for himself. Later on, Michael had been signed into the NBA and known to be a great NBA basketball player. He then makes his own sneaker line and has millions of fans around the world. Michael never gave up on basketball and pushed himself to be bigger and better for himself.
Oprah had went a lot throughout her life time. She would be criticized about her weight, attacked for her race, and was also a victim of sexual abuse by her uncle, cousin, and a family's friend. Where afterward, she had became pregnant and gave birth when she was 14 but, her child passed away 2 weeks later after her birth. Oprah remained going to finish her high school career being an honor roll student. Eventually, with her hard work she did in high school, she had earned a full scholarship to college where she put effort in being her own creator and star of her own show "The Oprah Winfrey Show". Even though, she had a challenging start in her life, Oprah manged to keep on going with her life and never give up in her education, whereas now owning her own tv show.
