In their first month of operations at a brand new mall north of Calgary, the owners of Korean B&H have been the only game in town but that will soon change as several other stores are set to open in the coming weeks. Sally Seong and her husband have been running their store in New Horizon Mall in Balzac since June 21. “I am selling organic and affordable skin care products and Canadian health supplements,” explained Seong. “These days, Korean skin care products are more popular in the world.”

Fashion retailer Urban Planet will be moving into half of the former Sears store in Lloyd Mall with an expected opening by late summer 2019. At least one additional retailer is expected to be named soon for the remaining space according to Triovest Realty Advisors, the Lloyd Mall property manager. The new tenant was revealed by Kyle Goettling, Triovest’s asset manager on Monday. “I can make one announcement; we’ve actually got a deal with one 20,000 sq. ft. space,” he said before identifying the tenant as Urban Planet. Urban Planet, a retailer of fashion for young men and women aged 16 to 24 will lease 20,000 sq. ft. of the total 40,000 sq. ft. space. Goettling said Triovest is talking with a number of users, most of which are non-fashion users to lease the remaining 20,000 sq. ft. of space.
