St. Monica is a huge model of faith in the Catholic Church. She showed this by having faith in God that her son, Augustin, and her husband would convert to the church. St. Monica prayed for both of them through hard times, and her faith in God never wavered. In the bible passage from Hebrews 11:1,”Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” This applies to St. Monica because she hoped for Augustin to convert to Catholicism and she was assured he one day would. St. Monica also never lost faith in her son. Augustin later converted to the church because of his mother. St. Monica showed nothing but patience, kindness, love, and most of all faith in God and those around her. One thing we can learn from St. Monica is to always keep our faith in God and to trust in him.
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1. This quote means that faith is having hope and being confident in what you are hoping for. If you believe in God you have faith in him because you cannot see him but you are still assured of his existence.
Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment. Matthew 15:28. This quote means that if you have faith in God your prayers/hopes will be granted. This woman believed and had great faith, so her request for her daughter to be saved was granted.
