Machozi, a refugee from Democratic Republic of Congo, wants to learn English so she can talk to her neighbors and her children's teachers. She said '' My husband died so it is just me and the children. Life in DRC was very difficult, i did not have time to learn English or anything else, we were struggling to survive.'' when Machozi arrived in UK she really wanted to speak English in order for her to communicate with neighbors, her children's teachers and whenever she goes to hospital appointments. She finds out that not understanding English anything is hard, and its a problem wherever she goes, she can't express her feelings to anyone and sometimes she feels lonely and its difficult for her to make friends. She is very happy to be in England as her children go to school, she lives in a safe environment although she has health problems she has enough food. Sade lost her Mother but not a normal way, as she was killed by the government as it was Folarni's fault because he was exposing the government too much so the government killed his loved one as this means a warning for him and his family. Sade and femi will have troubles living in UK because they don't know anyone.
The process for claiming asylum in the UK can be a long and complex one. What happens when asylum seekers arrive in the country? As soon as asylum seekers arrive in UK they are told to present their themselves to the authorities. When an asylum seeker is caught by UK polices they are first arrested by immigration officers. The immigration officers then submit an application on behalf of those seeking asylum. Asylums seekers will asked a lot of questions such as why did they leave their country? and why are they afraid to go back? also that they need to support their claims. Those asylums seekers with asylum claims they get to live in private house by the government or temporary housing like hotels. Also that asylums seekers are not allowed to work in UK. I predict that Sade and femi will never get the chance to live safety. since that Mrs. Bankole does not what to help them in any way even by going to the immigration for their claims to stay in the country. But further in the book Sade and Femi will find Uncle Dele but they are too late as they get caught by the police and the immigration officers will find out their true identities and send them to jail for a very long time. Femi's feelings are bad as he will always cry and Sade will have a still face as she will cry so hard inside her body like an angry bird.
Like so many Syrian families, the Khalils have been forced to live separate lives. For 18 months, Amir (Dad) had not seen his wife or children. The Red Cross has helped the family by providing the mom with a wheelchair as she got injured in the shelling in Syria, as the Red Cross helped that family so much by arranging visas and flights for the children and mom, at the looks of the father’s face he was thrilled to see his family from 18 months apart, and the mom and kids missed their Dad and cried, a cry of joy. The mom and children lived in England and the Dad stayed back in Syria. Last year volunteers and staff from the Red Cross helped hundreds of Syrian refugees to start a new life in the UK. Connections to the novel ‘The other side of Truth’ I predict that at some point Sade’s father will come to England to see his kids, maybe because Nigeria is in bad condition and the government is after Folarin and they want to kill him and his family, and his only way is to be smuggled out of the country and heading for England. Sade and Femi will not be still, jumping around with joy after seeing their father in the airport with a smile as huge as the sun and a cry of joy almost flooding the airport, but Folarin will just cry and hug his kids after a long period of unseen faces.
An estimated 65 million people throughout the world have been forced to flee their home country. And an estimation 118,995 refugee living in UK. Refugees have legal rights by the UK and the international law to bring their families over the UK to join them. without the family reunion project millions of refugees wouldn't have been safe and they would never see their loved ones. Asylum seekers are those people that leave their country, and get authorities and asylum seekers have legal rights to stay in the country. Refugees flee their homeland and they tell the authorities that their country is in bad conditions. Government accepting their claim for asylum, and refugees can stay in the country for a long time. In the book 'the other side of truth' Mrs. Bankole smuggled Femi and Sade into the country England with fake passports. In chapter 8 Mrs. Bankole threaten Femi and Sade that she will not help them to Uncle Dele and going to the Immigration, and the problem is that neither Femi or Sade know the city well and their are scared because they don't have enough money. The other thing is that if the two kids never get known that they are asylum seekers, they will never see their father ever again.
