The two most important people in my life are my children. I have two wonderful and wild but vastly different sons. They make me laugh every day and make me a bit crazy. I wouldn't have it any other way.
Teaching is not an easy job. Teaching sixth grade is even tougher. It's not for the weak. The most important part is to truly like kids and I do! My students make me laugh and learn something new every day.
School supplies make me happy! I love heading into Staples to purchase stuff for the new school year. My absolute favorite supply, the one I am a total snob about is the Ticonderoga pencil. I love it sharpened to a fine point and I won't write with anything but that brand. Like I said, I'm a snob about it.
Quite simply... I hate cheese. This article explains that I might not be as weird as some say!
My all time favorite past time is reading. I love books! I love discussing books and recommending books! I have had the honor of being a part of the RI Children's book award committee. It is a three year commitment and I had to read about 30 books a month but it was such a terrific experience. I love reading so much I have to make it a reward for finishing other things I don't feel like doing. If I don't then nothing gets done and all I do is read...
This article talks about the history of quilting. I know that the idea of quilting may sound boring, however it is one of my favorite ways to pass the time, especially in the winter. My mother taught me how to quilt and now it is something I share with her. The part that I enjoy the most is choosing the fabric for a new project. The choices are endless and come in all different styles and colors.
I have been traveling to Ogonquit, Maine since I was 11 years old. It is incredibly beautiful and relaxing. My entire family goes every summer and we spend our days swimming in the ocean and the pool. We walk along the Marginal Way, shop at the penny candy store and eat at our favorite restaurants. It is the week I look forward to all year long.
