Week in Justice 2 July 2017

Another busy week with three key reports making the headlines:

  1. The MoJ large-scale evaluation of the prison sex offender treatment programme which found it did not work and might even increase reoffending rates.
  2.  The National Audit Organisation's damning report on mental health in prisons which concluded that there was no strategy and insufficient resources to meet unmet need.
  3. The probation inspectors finally found a private Community Rehabilitation Company performing to a decent standard - in South Yorkshire.

You can also listen to David Lidington quizzed by veteran BBC legal correspondent Joshua Rosenberg and catch up with a trinity of critical prison inspection reports.
