A pretty terrible week on the prison front with a number of damning inspection and IMB reports (and a couple of decent ones); the worst prison safety figures ever, the highest number of prisoners released by mistake ever and ten prisons officially rated as of serious concern.
On the positive side, 12 months late and over two years after the scheme was terminated early, we have confirmation that the Peterborough short term prisoner resettlement scheme was successful - cutting reoffending by 9%.
