The focus of this week was the publication of Lord Michael Farmer's report on the importance of contact between prisoners and their families. He recommends making both the Justice Secretary and prison governors accountable for strengthening family ties.
In other news, another Secure Training Centre (Rainsbrook) received a critical inspection report.
There were some positive developments too, with the Howard League announcing a big drop in child arrests over the last 6 years and the Clink Prison Restaurant charity looking to expand into 20 establishments.
As always, click on the tile for full details.
