The highlight of this week was David Lammy's landmark review into the treatment of and outcomes form BAME people in the justice system. Underpinned by detailed research, the report uncovers bias at every stage and argues strongly that transparency is the key driver of change.
There was also a new report from the Howard League which found a big surge (34% on the previous year) in the number of prison adjudications imposing extra days of imprisonment as punishment - a total of nearly 800 years in 2016.
If you're looking for a new challenge, HMI Probation is recruiting 10 new inspectors.
