The main justice story this week has been concern about the rising number of murders and knife crime in London in particular.
The media decided to describe the situation as London's murder rate overtaking that of New York - which is technically true, albeit for the last two months only (see below). There has been discussion of launching a violence prevention strategy akin to Glasgow's for the capital.
