The Harlem Renaissance was when African-American people had careers in art, singing, dancing, and writing. Harlem is where many African-Americans went to find succes and jobs.

The 1920's was where silent movies were very succesful. The often had live music being played at them. People watched these movies at Nicklodeons
Women were treated unfairly in the 1920's and people thought that they didn't deserve the right to vote. Women protested and were beaten by police.
